Brattleboro is blessed with multiple independent shopping experiences both downtown and a short drive outside. Stroll along Main Street, Elliot Street and Flat Street for some truly unique choices. We love Penelope Wurr, Altiplano, Harmony Collective Gallery and Gallery in the Woods.
Vintage items are especially popular. Experienced Goods benefits the local hospice. Twice Upon a Time is one of our favorite places for special finds in furniture and decorative items. Boomerang (pictured) has a combination of vintage and new clothing and Distinctive Decor has a tantalizing array of refurbished furniture as well as some great finds in their small-but-nicely-curated clothing racks. Elliot Street has Verdigris and the whacky treasure trove at the 3 Ring Traveling Apothocary.
We’re only just getting started with that list. Galleries and craft shops share space with a great shoe store, multiple new and used bookstores, a comic shop and bike/ski/sport shops. And if you take a short drive out of town, try the Cotton Mill, home of many enticing little shops that hold great holiday sales. West Brattleboro has the wonderful Leopard Frog shop, Putney is the home of yet another vintage shop, Swirl, and there are galleries and pottery/glass studios dotted around the many quaint and arty towns nearby.
