SUMMER FUN ABOUNDS IN TOWN.
Our already vibrant downtown is better than ever with the additon of Halo Hollow, and you really need to check out the spiffy renovations at Sages Pub!
Fancy trying something arty or crafty? Bobbin & Skein, the Wheelhouse, River Gallery School of Art and HatchSpace have great classes and programs.
First Fridays/Gallery Walk and the Retreat Farm’s weekly Food Truck Roundup bring energy, music and food all summer long.
Speaking of music, Brattleboro is overflowing with the stuff! From nearly-nightly, mostly free entertainment at Marigold and a regular schedule of local talent at Midnight’s to big nights out at the Stone Church, impromptu sessions at the Tower and some truly fabulous performances and events at Epsilon Spires, music is everywhere. The Brattleboro Music Center and Vermont Jazz Center are only a short drive from the town center. Venture a bit further to attend some top class recitals at the Marlboro Music Festival and the Yellow Barn or visit Next Stage for a varied menu of entertainment.
BOOKSTORES: We have SIX – plus an excellent comic shop:
LOST TIME, BOOK LOVERS, EVERYONE’S BOOKS, BRATTLEBORO BOOKS, RAY GUN COMICS, ANTIDOTE BOOKS and BYWAY BOOKS
and don’t miss TURN IT UP, with vinyl, CDs, DVDs and more.
We are also very fortunate to have the wonderful Brooks Memorial library with great events and helpful, friendly staff.
Vintage, you say? We HAVE the vintage! Experienced Goods , Twice Upon a Time, Verdigris, Boomerang, and Morning Glorious all have their own ambience/offerings.
The Great Outdoors are all around us for wonderful hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, swimming and generally wandering about.
Later in the month we’ll be celebrating the new Amtrak station (pay attention, bring-your-own-bike enthusiasts!)
We’re really looking forward to seeing the finished product (and the riverside park, going forward).
These are just a few reasons to come and stay with us. Contact us with questions for specific activities, places to visit and other questions.
Need a bit of solitude? Stay in!
Your cozy quarters include a small but well-stocked library and the breakfast room doubles as a apace to play board games, watch movies, read, draw, knit or write. Need some company but not in the mood for humans? Kitten Watson adores guests and loves to play (and, if she’s in the mood, mature kitty Piper has been known to keep quiet company on the sofa).
We are looking forward to meeting you soon.
You’d love to stay, but can’t make it this month? Our Gift Certificates are good on any available date(s) for a future stay.
